Our goals continue to make our music lessons enjoyable but productive. Music education gives students a strong foundation to those who study, learn, and enjoy.
Yearly Music Recital
Saturday, February 24, 2024, is the date. We will hold six separate music recitals starting at 9:00 am and finishing at 5:30 pm. We hold the recital at the Springs of Suntree Clubhouse located at 8300 Holiday Springs Road. Each teacher will have a specific time. If you have more than one teacher, you can choose the time you would like. Signups will open on January 22, 2024. An email will be sent that morning with a link. Click the link and follow the directions. Signups will close on January 28, 2024.
Productive Music Practice
We all know that practice makes perfect! Practicing your music lesson should be scheduled on specific days and times. Finding the correct hand position for piano practice is important to follow the notes and staff. Play assigned songs twice or more if necessary. Listen to your student, clap, and help if you know music! Otherwise wait until the next lesson for help from the teacher.
Students are assigned two or three songs each week at their ability level. Ideally, the songs should be crossed off each week to make progress in the level being played. Usually, it takes a school year to complete an ability level. We do have some students that amaze us! It all depends on how often they play their instrument.
This should be a great year of growing more skillful at our instruments and learning many new songs!
